The habits you feel most stuck in are often the ones most ready to change.

NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Tansy Forrest

For years I taught secondary school. Department head, master's degree in Social Sciences, deep into the research on what makes people tick. On the outside, it looked like someone who had things sorted.

What nobody could see was the panic attacks on Sunday evenings. The sleepless nights. The way I'd reach for a drink at the end of the day because I was exhausted and stretched, and it was the quickest way to press pause.

I wasn't comfortable with my drinking, but I also didn't know what to do about it. Then I discovered hypnotherapy. Not as a last resort, but out of genuine curiosity and what I found surprised me that it wasn't all about willpower. It wasn't about being stricter with myself or finding better reasons to stop. It was about understanding what was actually happening in the pattern, and then quietly changing it from the inside.

The results were significant enough that I left teaching to retrain as a therapist. I qualified with a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and have now spent over a decade working with clients who are often in the same position I used to be - high-functioning, privately struggling, and already aware that the usual approaches haven't stuck.

Ten Steps to Drink Less and Live Well is the book I wish I'd had when I was working this out. It brings together everything I've learned in clinical practice and everything I've observed across hundreds of client sessions, with the goal of making the process as straightforward and shame-free as possible.

If any of that sounds familiar, I'm glad you're here.
